Ideally situated at the bottom of the waterfalls just before the ticket entry, it almost has a captive market. Next to it is a very good waffle stand. This place is very busy but the kitchen seems to cope well. Service was not slow given the number of large groups being served. Why a poor rating?The tables are not cleaned effectively between covers. So the outside tables seemed to be a wasp magnet due to sticky spilt cola etc. We did sit inside which was cool given the 25+ it was out side. Food was just ok, yes the menu had a good selection of Austrian meals, which would cover most pallets. And it appeared to be fresh, but it just did not taste as good as some I have had for half the price. The eggs that garnished the top of our plates were over fried in hot oil. Very crispy golden base and solid yolk. Almost like a plastic fake joke egg. Service was let down by not getting the second diet cola I requested until the fourth time of asking. We sat at the table opposite the bar, and the second time I asked was to the lady who delivers the drinks. She just returned to her station at the bar and looked about, chatted to her colleagues and the poured some tap water for another table. Then when the bill came it had more diets cola on it than had been delivered. When questioning the number I was being charged for the waitress checked what I was claiming with my wife. Let's assume is was due to my accent :) not distrust. Positives Clean WC Great location Wide menu The waffle stand next door.
The food is average at best, but you can see part of the falls from the outdoor tables. Selection is good, and the service wasn't bad for a tourist trap. It serves its purpose.
Hanke's Cafe is at the bottom of the Krimml Falls. It's just what you would expect from a restaurant at a busy tourist location.The service was quick and the food was tasty if not very exciting. The lady who served us was pleasant and spoke some English. Prices were what you would expect to pay at a tourist trap and the toilets were clean
With a direct view of the waterfalls offers the restaurant a top quality food and has a fast service! For 16 euros we get a plate of wild game with lots of meat on it. I liked it very much. We hat a friendly/fast service, which is the case of the many bus tourists is necessary
Ate lunch here out of season so this was the only cafe open but there were still a good few diners in the café. I ordered only a soup but my other half had pork steak on skewers which came in a huge dish with potato rosti, rice, vegetables and tasty mushroom sauce. I had a small portion of this and it was delicious. Waiting staff were friendly and attentive. I'd be happy to try other dishes on their extensive menus.
Nice place with view to a "krimml wasserfalle" but do not expect something extraordinary. It is just a clasic restaurant like 10.000 others.....
Gutes Essen, Service und Lage. Was frägst du?! Die Margherita-Pizza und der Kaffee sind sehr gut.
Wir haben das Café auf halber Höhe besucht und hatten keine Beschwerden. In diesem Café am Boden gab es Kaffee und Kuchen und der Kellner war sehr unhöflich und ignorierte uns absichtlich eine ganze Weile.
