beautiful place, right at the river. friendly staff. I had very interesting dishes. large portions. a bit saltier than I used to, but tastes good. huge salate with the lucern cake. meatloaf. long ribbing pool pop was my fav
After we have spent a weekend in interlaken, we decided to take a way around and go to lucern to make a walk and lunch in the rathaus brewerei, a restaurant that we discovered last summer and that we really love. After we were wandering around, we drove into the...brewery, showed our Kovid passes (hass off for being strict and asking for them, we don't like no-Vax! and sat inside as the temperature was cool and it drove. we ordered a plate of bratwurst and of wienerli; both were delicious, high quality meat, very decent and priced honest, too. I ordered a Christmas beer, which was really amazing, well made to the master brewer, as it perfectly paired with our meal times. the staff was very friendly and spoke several languages, we were very pleased to see how they really cared for their customers. overall my go-to restaurant in luzern.
how many breweries it was better than eating. the Cordon-Bleu was good, but the portionwise too large. my man said he was better off somewhere else. our server was very friendly.
they enjoy eating and the relaxed atmosphere. the beer was also good! the hotel is located on the lake offered a great view of the old bridge and other historic buildings.
Stopped here for a quick drink and a snack. The cappucino was absolutely fabulous, but the house specialty apfelstrudel was unfortunately very average. Definitely a nice place to stay and have a few drinks and something to eat.
Popped in for an afternoon beer shortly after arriving in Luzern. Prompt service, a nice table overlooking the river and the Kappellbruck. And the beer is great.
The food was amazing and the service excellent. We tried the local beer which was very smooth. Overall had an amazing time!
Rathaus brwery is a good to start with in Luzern, to taste local beer, some local and other Swiss and German dishes. (at least I tried only these) It is not the cheapest, nor the best beer in town, but it is a good starting...point for a city visit, especially with the view on the river Reuss and really sitting riverside.
