We have visited Montreux twice and Caveau des Vignerons is the first stop on our list of places to eat. It's a short walk up the hill off the lake. You can get a glimpse of the lake from the terrace but I wouldn't call it a lake view.Their truffle fondue is truly unique. One of a kind so far throughout our gastro tours around the world including several trips through Switzerland. We tried many other dishes from the egg, ham, and cheese raclette and viandes fondue. Truly fantastic!We just love the truffle fondue and will go back anytime we can for that. The wine list is limited but they have a fairly nice grand cru from vaud. I've read some other reviews that complain about the couple who own and run the place. I can see how some people could complain about the service with only the 2 of them running the restaurant floor but as we engaged them we found them to be quite pleasant. They offered us some very special limoncello because of how much we appreciated their food. Overall special experience for us on both visits. Will return.
