Als ich das erste mal im Restaurant Knes in Lendorf/Klagenfurt war, war ich überrascht in einen kleinem Vorort von Klagenfurt so ein gutes Restaurant zu finden. Seit dem ersten Mal steht jedesmal wenn ich in Klagenfurt bin ein Besuch beim Knes fest auf meinem Programm und war deshalb bereits das 6 mal dort.Die Gerichte sind sehr gut und auch das Preis/Leistungs-Verhältnis ist gut.Das Ambiente ist schön und im Sommer kann man die Terrasse nutzen, wo ein kleiner Spielplatz und eine riesengrosse Wiese für die Kinder zur Verfügung stehen.Ich kann das Knes absolut empfehlen.
At first sight “Restaurant Knes” could be taken for a large villa if there were not its spacious car-park. Although the building is certainly a few decades old its elegant interior is in perfect condition. Its wooden ceiling and the fairly large, well separated tables contribute to a high-class atmosphere. This is one of the quite rare restaurants where the floor is covered by carpeting. In conjunction with the curtains this had an advantageous noise-dampening effect. So, we felt really comfortable there.The impeccable service fitted into that pattern. The courteous and friendly young waiter acted very professionally.Two pages of the menu were devoted to dishes of the day and of the season. The permanent part of the menu was of a design that did not correspond to the high aspirations of this restaurant. However, it offered a wide enough choice, focusing on meat dishes, but comprising a few vegetarian dishes as well. It revealed that the prices were somewhat above the average of decent restaurants in Klagenfurt, albeit not very prohibitively high.After only a moderate weighting time our dishes were served. The portions were sufficiently large and the nice manner in which everything was arranged on the plates lived up to the expectations of an upper-level restaurant. More importantly, our meals were really savory. To sum up, this restaurant appears to be above average for a number of reasons, including its pricing.
