The experience was not the best. The food is standard, nothing exceptional. We had to wait an hour to have our orders. To the point that I had to go to the car park, far more than 500 mt. To pay for the extension of the parking lot. The waitress, to whom I pointed out the strong delay, though kind, did not make a bend and did not even apologize. I will not be back.
A superb restaurant in a beautiful old town. Food is amazing and nicely presented lots of choices and lots of it. The prices are very reasonable considering the quality. We would definitely come back if we ever visited Rattenberg again.
You HAVE TO go to restaurant Malerwinkel in Rattenberg! Lovely village and beautiful small and not expensive restaurant. Great food, even better staff and our Bernese Mountain dog Guus was completely spoiled!
Our nearby castle sent us here, it was wonderful, the tables on the street and inside were very nice, but we were surprised to take an elevator up to the roof where an nice view of the town and some old ruins awaited us. The food was delicious, the service was adequate, the night and bells ringing were wonderful.
Lovely location with excellent food and great service and a menu where there is something for everyone.
We were visiting Rattenberg for the day and decided to eat at the Café Malerwinkel. It's just off the main street where all the tourists go in a quiet alley (with a good view.) The weather was hot and we decided to eat outside on the terrace.We only had a snack and a beer, but the cheese soup was outstanding and it was beautifully presented (with tiny bread sticks wrapped in Palma ham).The service was perfect and very friendly (as it almost always is in this part of the Tyrol.) We went inside to look round. This restaurant has some of the most amazing dining rooms I've ever seen - they look as if they've been hacked out of the surrounding stone. It's also immaculately decorated and very clean.We saw other people's food (who were eating more than us) and the presentation also looked immaculate. We will go back.On our way out, we complemented the staff and we were invited to use the lift to the top floor where there's an open terrace with a view across the medieval town. Our lucky day.
Popped in here to escapes thunderstorm and ordered a couple of beers and a plate of chips. Very friendly and helpful bar staff. Menu looked great. The building itself was very interesting - built into the rock - I am sure there is some interesting archeology going on from the castle above. Well worth a visit!
