recently I was in Aigen-Schlaegl for a convention and the only distraction that they gave us was a visit to the abbey with an adjoining brewery. brewery was founded in 1580 and produces nine types of beer (including urquell, doppel bock, malz könig, stifter bier, edle reserve, weizenbier) more specialties such as doppelbockbieressig beer vinegar and Doppel-Bock-Bierbrand distillate. the restaurant obtained in the cellar is open until late except for the closing monday and it is advisable to book ( 43 72 81/88 01280 or email to [email protected]). the menus are all focused on the degotation of their beers, from simple snack to five-course meal with five different beers.) the place is very suggestive, the interesting visit, the good food and the excellent beer. during the dinner the staff explains the different characteristics of the products. I highly recommend it for a dinner different than usual
