We stopped in this hut after a nice walk. modern structure, very functional and clean. Good choice between hot and cold dishes all thirsty with sympathy from the young people who compose the staff. The added value is the breathtaking view of the lake of lugano and, for those who feel like walking a little further on the lake major.

a real pike from the city. easy to reach for people with different hiking skills. ideal for ocitis in mtb or on foot of a day. if the weather is beautiful you have a view of the gulf of lugano and the surrounding valleys unmissable. The staff of the hut is young, dynamic and very friendly. possibility to taste good typical dishes, with the only neo of prices not just from hut. the quality and quantity is excellent and compensates. A hut that can also be only passing to other destinations or overnight stays in the nine renovated rooms.
You reach the newly built Capanna (lodge) of the Swiss Alpine Club by climbing 600 meters from the village Corteciasca. After about two thirds of the way you can watch herds of peacefully grazing Highland cattle. These animals are quite docile, you can approach them to a mere two to three meters, even the cows with a calf. They would rather move away from you than attack you. But stay outside the swing of their long horns an keep your dog on a leash!The Capanna is a wooden cube erected on a concrete foundation. Weather permitting you can enjoy the sun on the large patio. Service is swift and friendly. Our server was fluent in Italian, German and French. I do not know about English but I do not think it would be a problem.The restaurant offers typical local cold and warm dishes such as affetato (air dried ham and bacon), polenta with cheese or polpettone (meat loaf) or risotto con Lughanige. Small but good selection of local wines by the glass or by the bottle. Reasonable prices.Enjoy the splendid views from the Capanna or climb a further two hundred meters (half an hour) to the Monte Bar (1800 m altitude) and enjoy your coffee on the way down - it's well worth the effort!
modern refuge on the style of the other shelters built recently in the area you see generous mountain, beautiful panorama one of the most beautiful in absolute. Food: I only ate a slice of cake (good) and a juicy treat: we say Swiss for us are tall but for them it is normal so 9.5€Note positive parking bike.
After a beautiful family trip we stopped at the new hut of the mountain bar, very suggestive and with a breathtaking view. we got a good slice of chestnut cake and a ball of excellent homemade ice cream. prices are a little high, but it is understandable seen the high mountain place.
after a pleasant walk even if challenging, with wonderful time we finally arrived at the hut, built ex novo last year. modern architecture but perfectly integrated in the landscape with incredible views to the Po Valley and the Apennines. simple but genuine cuisine with local pastries products and very good prices. very courteous service despite the numerous customers (it was Sunday with an excellent time.) to recommend!
After a nice walk to the top of Monte Bar we made a stope for wine and dinner at this place. Friendly staff and really good good!
