Great place for a quick lunch or coffee. Limited vegetarian but good nonetheless. Also suited my meat eater husband! Very helpful staff who, when it rained moved us inside with no fuss.
As I was staying at this hotel, I had dinner one night, and breakfast the other, and both meals were great. Outside you can sit and you are directly in main street....very nice!
Das Café liegt mitten in der Altstadt. Es ist gemütlich und gepflegt im Barockstil eingerichtet. Wir wurden sehr nett begrüßt. Der bestellte Cappuccino kam zügig und schmeckte gut. Die freundliche Bedienung brachte uns sogar noch einen Wassernapf für unsere Hündin. Was will man mehr? :)
Firstly, the food at Cafe Altstadt is lovely. We stopped for a quick lunch with our two children. We had a salad, soup and some sandwiches. The service, however, was terrible. Firstly, the waitress walked away half way through our order and had to be called back so that we could finish. Then all the dishes came out separately, my wife had finished her salad by the time our childrens' sandwiches arrived and we had to ask the waitress three times if the soup had been ordered. A plate of pomme frites arrived with no cutlery and we had to ask the waitress again if the children could have some salt and ketchup. We then asked a final time if the soup I had ordered was on its way, and the waitress apologized and said she would get it. We watched as she placed a bowl in a microwave behind the bar, warmed it up, and brought it over. When we complained about the service to a different waitress when paying the bill, we were told rudely that a lot of people were ordering food so we should expect slow service if they are busy. Not service we would expect from a cafe affiliated with the Radisson Blu.
Direkt vor dem Cafe sitzt man gemütlich am Platz. Eine super nette Bedienung versorgte uns schnell mit Cappuccino, Sandwich und Topfenstrudel. Der Topfen war super! fairer Preis, super Service, top Lage... alles bestens! Übrigens im Lokal ist es sehr gemütlich und sauber! Wir kommen sicher wieder
We were staying in the hotel and had a quick a-la-carte breakfast here. It was reasonably priced and quite good. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quick, no-nonsense breakfast to start their day.
Sunday of the Salzburg marathon and the old part of town was super quiet. This was one of the few places we found open at before 9am. Pleasant surroundings and reasonable meal
In a very central convenient location to make a stop any time and enjoy a great coffee with an excellent choice of salty and sweet snacks.
