Staff were so friendly compared with some of the restaurants nearby I was at the Gabler Brau with my wife son and friend.My son and I had schnitzel which was very tasty which I thoroughly enjoyed my wife and friend had the Gabler burger and were happy with their choice.We enjoyed the wine and beer and the decor was very authentic and stained glass windows were very impressive.The toilets were so clean always a good sign for a restaurant I would certainly recommend this restaurant.
Staff was kind, atmosphere was nice, food was good and charge was reasonable. I left my souvenir on the chair but they kindly kept it!! I could get it back next day as staff remembered me!!!! Very warm hospitality.Definitely I will visit this restaurant again!!海外で忘れ物を取っておいてくれるなんて。。感激しました。覚えてくれていて忘れ物を取っておいてくれたスタッフのおばちゃんにチップを渡そうとしたのですが「いいのよー」と受け取らず。料理も美味しくリーズナブルで素敵なお店でした。2日続けてチキンローストを頂きました。
We chose this place out of necessity -- we were hungry! And, it was hot outside! So, a place with air conditioning was sought out --- and Gablerbrau was perfect. We were disappointed in their beer selection, but the food was delicious! The best on the menu, of all of us four, the Oxtail! Try it. We did note that the acoustics in the restaurant are very odd. We were able to hear the talking of folks at a table 30 feet away from us just as if they were sitting at our table. There is something in the curvature of their ceilings.
We ordered a weekend special sharing plate and it was great. And the Salzburg Soufflé is definitely a must try !
We like the beer and beef goulash. Even the sausages taste good. This was close to our hotel and open on a Sunday night. We will revisit if we go back to Salzburg.
Look at the picture. Ordered two Schnitzel. Meat quality is really not worth the price. Small and not thin like it should be.
After the Sound of Music tour we were hungry and a bit tired. We sat at one of the outside tables at Gablerbrau and waited a bit for someone to wait on us. Finally, one of the servers said we should go inside because it was going to rain soon. We discovered one of the most charming dining rooms we saw on our European trip. (It poured about 10 minutes after we were seated.)I ordered the roast pork and my wife had goulash soup and a pretzel. The roast pork and dumplings were delicious and a huge portion. It reminded me of the pork and dumplings my Czech-American grandma used to make. (She would not have approved that I had to leave some pork on the plate, I just couldn't finish it.) My wife enjoyed the soup as well. Our waitress was very charming. This restaurant was one of the surprise visits of the trip. I would highly recommend it when in Salzburg.
Delicious food! Great staff! We were immediately seated and the staff took great care of us. Great delicious Austrian fare with very approachable menus with English translations. Enough food choices to appeal to old and young. The meat was tender and the ravioli with porcini mushrooms delicious. The dessert was splendid and the house beer a wonderful light but flavorful addition. The warm apple strudel with ice cream was a perfect dessert. The decor and space was historic and so much fun to examine while dining - old wooden paneling with inlay and wrought iron decorations. Overall a highly recommended experience.
