the el sombrero offers both fajitas for self rolling with various fillings (vegi, poulet, bark, fish; crevetten) as well as finished rolled and baked with cheese burritos and quesadillas. these are all very fine and saturating. other dishes such as the Mexican speciality with sharp kakaosauce are somewhat less recommended here, as they rather taste a little dry and more viscous.
the el sombrero at the webergasse in schaffhausen is the texmex classic bad. large selection, best quality, matching ambiente and great service. to all, fair prices. what do you want? the locality and facilities fit perfectly to the thema and you just feel comfortable there. after the dinner you can already be near the Ausgeh triangle and you just sit and enjoy the drinks in the el sombrero. Food great, terrible service!We spent 3 hrs here waiting and waiting for food, drink, anything! We were walking past and asked if there was room for 6 and were told that there was (even on valentines night) BUT we should have been told that instead of 3 waiting staff there was only one who was also very new. The orders for drinks took so long to be taken we had decided on food as well. Then we waited, and waited etc etc by the time we had been in there 2hrs we had only had a platter starter and two rounds of drinks. Another hour before we got our mains and another round in.The problem lies in the fact that the food was very good, but the waiter was struggling and the situation should not have arisen if the manager had just told IPAs the score before we went in. Very frustrating and potentially ruined the night.I would say to go for the food but I had to give it one star for the service.
it starts with the friendly welcome when you enter the local. the menu contains an incredible variety of foods, there is really something for everyone, and if not, you are open to all special requests. the meat is best quality, all ingredients are fresh and the food homemade (including the delicious sauces.) and even if you are at the end of the food papp satt, a crema catalana just has to be. this restaurant is really a jewel in the little schaffhausen!
the restaurant might be a bit better from the facility, is rather dark, but the service was first class and the food really delicious and from the quality also very good. In addition, it was operated very quickly. my special recommendation: order a carajillo to finish, not only that it is extremely tasty (the best I have ever received) but it is also served spectacularly!
