Stiva Veglia is one of the most exceptional gastronomic experiences we've ever had. The owners and staff are warm and extremely hospitable and the food surpassed all expectations. Tino Zimmermann is likely on his way to a Michelin Star, and hopefully more than one. This restaurant is worth any length of detour; the Lumnezia Valley is fantastic and one of the most beautiful in Switzerland. CAN'T MISS!
This is certainly not to be missed. The Food is simply outstanding! Unbelievable attention to detail. It was a very warm evening and several times a cooled cloths was brought to freshen up. The staff is wonderful, we were a large party of 21, but nobody had to wait for anything. The food was served simultaneously and hot. I simply can’t fault this restaurant. From A-Z everything was perfect! Well done Mr and Mrs Zimmermann.
Can any restuarant be 100% perfect 100% of the time for 100% of the clients? This restaurant comes pretty close. It was excellent from the start: the warm and friendly welcome, the ambience, the comfort, the interesting menu, the extremely knowlegable waitress and then the meal itself - perfection.I have reported on TripAdvisor on many eateries, from simple to grand-luxe. I don't recall writing excellent on all parameters for any. I have no hesitation to do so now.We loved all the dishes. We also loved the tiny extras and the friendly but professional owners and waitstaff. The old but timeless dining room is nicely decorated, with some fine (and authentic) pereiod pieces.But more than anything - the meal itself.Be sure you have a GPS to find this very out of the way diamond.
Recently we have been again (after several years) in this restaurant in a small village near the Ilanz (the first city on the river Rhine.) The experience was really outstanding in terms of: ambiance, service, appearance and quality of the meal.In addition we could enjoy excellent wines.We were suprised about the many little "greetings from the kitchen" athe beginning and in between the meal.The beef we ordered as main dish was absolute prime quality and cooked to perfection. The desert was a dream!Pricing of course is at Swiss level; however with respect to the close distance to Laax/Flims (a major ski-resort) it is just acceptable.Very recommendable place.
The warm welcome from Frau Auchter, the friendly service, the decoration of the house, all is balanced and in harmony, what a pleasure to spend the night! Finest food, great selection of wines, beautiful garden with spices and fruittrees, the ambiance is amazing. Deffinitly worth the trip to Schnaus, enjoyed every moment, every flavour, and the super service!
We stopped here spontaneously as it was well rated and after having dinner here, I can fully agree with the rating. I am not an expert of Michelin restaurants but I thoroughly enjoyed the food journey here. Everything was really nicely done and small details of flavour combinations and designing made it a pleasure. On top of that we were offered top taste many small delicious specialties in addition to the main menu All the staff was very friendly and welcoming Would definitely recommend it.
We are regulars at Stiva Veglia and consider this one of our favorite restaurants in the world. While it's a star Michelin restaurant, it feels very personal and warm. It's like you're visiting friends who have the ability to our magic on your plate, eating in their home, and there are other people too, you're sitting in a traditional local house and experiencing traditional food and flavors that bring your senses new joy. Tino and Cornelia are the heart of this place and their entire team makes you feel welcome and have an overall great experience every time you visit.
