We had a fantastic experience in restaurant Hide Seek located in the superior 5-star resort Giardino Mountain. The restaurant is very well decorated in a mountain chic style with beautiful chandeliers and big panorama windows, overlooking the snowy mountains of the Engadin. The food was delicious and the staff very friendly, all and all a wonderful experience which I can recommend to everybody who likes to enjoy quality food in a beautiful setup.
After decent starters (king prawns, beef steak tartare and Vietnamese summer roll), unfortunately, the quality of the food afterwards and – especially – the service made it a rather mixed experience. Two choose ‘Wiener Schnitzel’, which we would understand as bread crumbed fried veal scallop and two had a beef fillet. The beef ordered ‘medium rare’ came as ‘medium’. This is in Switzerland often the case (if not in a steakhouse) and may be overlooked. The ‘Wiener Schnitzel’ however was very dry and of mediocre quality. Our comment to the Schnitzel was not only commented with a shrug but also the service staff was not seen any more afterwards; obviously taken the restaurant’s name to literally ‘hide’. This had no major impact since e.g. refilling our wine glasses was not being considered as part of the waiter service beforehand.
