Excellent food with a good choice. Very Gemuetlich ie friendly/comfortable, good ambience. Lovely desserts.
We found in the manue an offer of a meal for 2 at the price of 17EU.We thought 2 of these meals will be enough for the 3 children and one adult.We ordered other 2 offeres for the 2 other adults. We got an enormous tasteless mixture of vegtabels and different kinds of meat.But the real surprise came with the bill.It does not matter what you ordered you pay for the quantity of pepole who ate the plate.Therefor we had to pay 34X2 for this plate . For 3 children and one adult who ate this order except for the .other 2 dishes we ordered.How could the waitress who advised us about the food not worn us that this meal for 2 persons actually costs much much more than the 17 EU which was written on the manue.It was totally unclear that you pay 17 EU for each person who eats this dish.We tried to argue but no one listened and there was a real hostile atmospher.We left there 94 EU for a tastless meal and a desiving Manue Chart.Don't let the lovely look of the resturant desive you.
This is a restaurant we wanted to like. The atmosphere was charming, the people friendly and welcoming.Sadly, the food didn't match. We were disappointed with the quality of the meal. Just ordinary. Perhaps it was poor choice on our part.The restaurant promised much but just didn't deliver.
We found this place on a rainy day and decided to try it because there was a parking spot adjacent to it. We ordered typical Austrian food for 4 adults and two children. The food was very good and the service was friendly. Everyone, including the children, liked what they ordered. The food was reasonably priced. I would recommend this place for authentic Austrian food in a friendly family atmosphere.
We came in around 18:00 and were received friendly. Only one other table with other guests. A drawing with pencils was presented for our daughter. We ordered some fish and schnitzels. While waiting we felt rather uncomfortable as there was a lack of fresh air and a lot of flies. Diner came and it was ok but very basic. The real unpleasant surprise came when we asked the bill. Turned out there were three kinds of the same fish on the menu. We only saw the daily special for 15 euro. Fish with salad. This would be in line with the rest of the food and the venue. On the bill it was calculated as 23.80 as the waiter insisted he explained himself very clearly when we ordered. Well let us be clear: he didn't. He wasn't even willing to see that he was at least part of the problem nor to find a solution. Only after we made clear that we wouldn't visit again and will make a review (this one) he came with 5 euro on our way out. Which we refused.Please be advised that the bad review isn't just because this arrogant attitude but also because the mediocre food. The fish was never worth more than 15 euro. Not recommended, there are plenty of good alternatives in Mauterndorf
It was really great experience. On the way home from Obertauern unscheduled stopped in Mauterndorf and exactly in front of this restaurant. Very kind waitress served us with full care despite we have language problem.And result was perfect, listening our special requirements she served us with lot of patience and kind and warm hospitality.Thanks on all! Hope once we'll return back.
We do not speak German, but the hosts were very attentive in explaining every dish, including the specials. The food was good value and quality and our lack of German presented no barriers. The service was excellent and they made us feel very welcome.
In Mauterndorf, a couple of restaurants for dinner I chose this one to try their dishes. I ordered a traditional dish beef soup with noodles, boiled beef with horseradish and cooked vegetables. Nothing special but just right for a late dinner. Room for about 50 people. Domestic being provided by the smell of the kitchen. Serving fine, preferably knowledge of German.
