Nach einer Wanderung im Tessin war dies der krönende Abschluss eines wunderschönen Tages. Köstliche Speisekarte, freundliches Personal und wunderbare Atmosphäre. Ich würde allein wegen des köstlichen Farina-Bona-Desserts wiederkommen. Lecker.
Seit fast vier Tagen sind wir auf der Suche nach einem guten Restaurant in Tegna, aber leider waren alle anderen Restaurants sehr enttäuscht. Heute haben wir von Paulo, dem Besitzer des Barbarate Hotels, eine Empfehlung für das Restaurant Alla Cantina erhalten und waren sehr überrascht. Ich bin 2 Minuten vom Hotel entfernt und wir haben ein sehr tolles Restaurant entdeckt. Die besten, besten Würmer-Services und Großzügigkeit und sehr lecker. Wir empfehlen, das Kürbissüppchen und als Hauptgericht das Ossubuco zu bestellen. Vielen Dank, wir kommen wieder. Alon und Adina
We stopped here on our drive to Lake Como. It was one of the best meals we had during our two week stay in Italy and Switzerland. I felt underdressed at this charming place but the staff made us feel welcome. The risotto and pasta dishes are exquisite. If you are in the Locarno area and appreciate fine dining you must come here.
We stayed at Tegna as the weather over the New Year was so good. I had eaten in the Alla Cantina before with my hiking friends and had sat outside in the courtyard. This time we sat inside in front of the fire and enjoyed the cosy and charming atmosphere. The restaurant is not cheap but the quality of every dish was wonderful and we enjoyed every single mouthful of our meal. The salad to start was beautifully presented and the special balsamic sauce was absolutely delicious. The osso bucco had run out, so we had veal cheeks in the same sauce, also with the delicious risotto. My mouth is drooling just thinking about it. The desert that followed was then perfect - a grape sorbet with grappa - smooth, creamy and delicious. The wines were great too!We loved our evening there - bravo to the owners for creating a lovely atmosphere, being good hosts and serving great food. We walked in without a booking and loved the fact that all the other guests were locals. We almost felt local ourselves! We will return for sure!
we discovered this wonderful restaurant about 4-5 years ago and it has become our favorite place in the area. Dante is just the most wonderful host, always accommodating our different needs (children's special plate, extra truffels, extra porcini risotto, substitutions etc.) The food is most authentic and unpretentious yet absolutely delicious. No better osso bucco in the area, no better risotto. Come late in the summer and enjoy fresh pasta with truffles!!! The courtyard/garden is so romantic and beautiful, the service unobtrusive yet attentive, the wine selection wonderful, the food phantastic, deserts outstanding I can't say enough nice things about this place. We are looking forward to coming back this summer, please reserve a table for us!!
We arrived on a Saturday evening at 8pm without advanced booking and were turned down immediately as there were no tables free. Than the manager/proprietor changed his mind and seated us a good table which had a 'reserved' note. Maybe we looked as if we were going to spent a lot of money ;) ? (yes, we were!)The food was excellent, service quite quick and efficient, and the wine by the Carafe absolutely delicious. We made the mistake not to check the price of the .5Ltr carafe wine in advance and found out we were charged 25 Franc per 0.5Ltr. Carafe which seems bit steep when you ask for 'vina locale de table' but never mind it was lovely.The bill for two starters, one main dish and 1ltr of house wine came to 140 Franks which as we later found out had been our most expensive meal of the holiday. I think we were under the impression that this was a quite basic restaurant as the outside is quite unassuming.However, on balance, they deserve to highly rated for a lovely evening and excellent food and service.
Been there a couple times already. The food is one of the best value you will get in the Locarno area. The ingredients are from premium quality and when I say that I mean really high range. For lunch, the daily is cheap fresh and tasty, sometimes I even wonder how they make any money on that. For dinner I recommend the "set" menu, you can choose anything on the a-la-carte menu as a starter, an entree and desert. I recommend either the fish or the maitre d'hôtel's suggestion and finally for desert (believe me I'm not what we call a sweet mouth) you will get amazed, every single one of them is delightfull. Only down size and this why I didn't give it a 5 star for the service sometimes the manager vents his ill-temper on his clients. To end up on a positive note though the manager has great wine knowledge and will advise you perfectly depending on your budget. You can't be fouled here, from time to time some of the customers are very high range. I've frequently seen collectors cars worth more than 250k in the parking lot. Not that it matters but these kinds of people have been everywhere and tasted everything. Always a good sign on a mid range price restaurant such as this one.
The restaurant is located in a small courtyard on the central square of the Tegna village, just oustide Locarno. Lots of free parking.The food was outstanding. We asked for, and to our amazement got, the recepi for the marvellous salad dressing. The chef made a special "all mushroom" menu for us upon request. Great.We went back later and had a splendid meal right off the menu.The place to go in Locarno
