We went during the winter, shortly after this restaurant changed hands and we had very unwelcoming service. We decided to give them a second chance tonight and couldn't have been happier. New menu, tasty food, good portions and friendly staff.
New menu, great service and amazing sunset views...Only a 20 minute walk from Medran lift station (or ski to it in the winter,) this is a great place to go for a meal or a drink after a hike or a ski - or just for lunch or dinner. Food is served non-stop all day this summer and the new menu contains some interesting original additions...I had the 'Crispy Buttermilk Chicken' which was delicious but if you fancy something more traditional, you can still have the usual Fondue/Croûte dishes. It has a huge terrace and a children's playground area and is the last restaurant on the mountain to see the sun go down. You can also rent it out for private parties. For extra fun, try the infamous snuff machine after your meal!
To get to Chez Dany you already have a nice walk up with stunning views. At Chez Dany you can enjoy traditional Swiss/Valaisian dishes, served by friendly staff. They are famous because of the great scenery of their location!
We used to frequently come to this restaurant and I used to like the food here, but sadly, the restaurant recently changed owners and I have to say it was for the worst. I had the Spaghetti Bolognese which is usually a very easy dish to make, but I have to admit the meat was tasteless and my pasta was overcooked and soggy.My brother had the Entrecôte de boeuf which was literally three fries and 70g of meat. (The dish costed 48.-).The restaurant has changed so much and isn't close to being as good as it used to be. The restaurant uses the old Chez Dany's reputation to it's advantage.I have to admit this is on my never again list.Overall, the food isn't a very good quality and clearly is way overpriced.
It may be a bit of a find to ski down here while heading back down to Verbier. Start off from Ruinettes and ski all the way down below Icecube to the old lift station and start traversing...follow the signs and you will have the best views for your apres ski! Beautiful set up, great food and wines! Also worth walking/skinning up in the evening and then sledging or skiing down with headlamps!
Our family has just been at this small restaurant with the most amazing view. We were greeted by our very friendly host who gave us a table on the terrasse.We were served lunch there and our meal was very delicious and the wine was one of the best local Rose I have ever tasted.The waiters and all the staff were smily and made us feel very welcome and home. The all over atmosphere is friendly and very relaxing. Definitely worth the effort to get up there even bye foot, as there isn't much snow.
Wonderful classic Swiss dining experience and then sled back down the mountain.Small chalet maybe maybe 200km up the mountain from the W.Small and intimate, wonderful wine list and menu.Best fondue we had in town.After dinner one can sled back down the winding trail to bottom of Medran lift.A few steep spots after wine make it a hoot.Mountain Air ski shop rents Sleds and Heads lamps ( a must ).
we went for dinner to chez dany and we loved it the full experience.the restaurant is the typical mountain house very well decorated and cosy. we arrived in snow taxi and enjoyed the sunset which was amazing. then had a superb dinner (had the cheese and mushroom fondue and the entrecôte) and the returned with a sled and lighters through the same slopes we skied during the day.the experience is one of the best memories we will have of our trip to verbier. highly recommended!
