Very quiet when we visited for dinner on a Sunday evening. The food and service were both adequate without being special. No wine list was offered although the wine we were given was pleasant enough.Adequate but not for a special treat of any kind in my opinion.

After a long day of travelling from London to Vienna, as well as the trip from the airport and checking-in, there's nothing better than a rewarding meal whilst getting to know the immediate area right? Well we certainly did that, and with mixed results really.I'll focus on the positives first though. This nice little restaurant was nicely presented with plenty of tables available so you can soak in the Viennese air whilst you eat your food, of which I helped myself to the Pork Fillet medallion with mushroom sauce, which was absolutely delicious, with the meat being extremely tender and the sauce absolutely packed with flavour. My colleague had the tagliatelle pasta and as far as I can tell, there were no complaints there either. So as far as food goes, full marks, so credit to the chef. Plus there are English-translated food menus for your non-German linguists out there, myself included.Unfortunately, that's where my review takes a sad turn with regards to the atmosphere, location and the service. The atmosphere, beyond the nitter-natter of the local going past the restaurant, was virtually non-existent and you may get the odd drunk person stumbling past asking you for money. This happened, twice, during the same meal. Not what I would call welcoming or accommodating. Was not a massive fan of the location, as there were plenty of dark streets and alleyways nearby, so there was always a slight edginess in my disposition throughout my stay. But that could have been associated with the time of day that our dinner was served. And the service was extremely slow, as there was one poor lady trying to cover a couple of dozen tables all by herself at peak serving hours, and as a result it was very difficult trying to order food and drinks and maintaining her attention on us at different points of when we ate here. Think some more staff serving the tables or collecting the plates/bowls and drinks wouldn't hurt. Its a shame that few of these factors put on a dampener on what was a very nice main course meal, but on the whole, it did serve its purpose as a restaurant and that was the main thing. But if you want the complete restaurant package, this is not it by any stretch, as the location, service and atmosphere left a lot to be desired.

On the hindsight, I should have left when I realised that all the table clothes were dirty and stained, but I decided to stay and eat something because I had skipped lunch and I was starving. First thing was egg spätzle, which were disgusting and stinky as if they had used very old eggs. The salad that came with it was also very badly dressed and the salad leaves were absolutely huge and all packed in a small cup with a very disappointing watery dressing. The wiener schnitzel was slightly better than the starter but it was clear that it was fried in a very old oil and it felt very greasy. The waiter instead of checking why I was leaving all the food on the plate, he said nothing and he kept typing on his phone. So that I got up, went to pay the bill and left....NEVER AGAIN. I have never eaten so badly in Vienna.

Enjoy your time here.Sit outside in the sun, sit inside. Tasty soup. Turkey breast. Beer. No smiles from the staff though. Just be careful in this area at nightfall. Dining to a girl's screams from down the darkened alley opposite was not on my wishlist for the evening! Travel with care!

Came here on the first night of our holiday. Staff were very friendly and the goulash was very hearty! Would recommend to anyone wanting a not too expensive meal in this part of the city.

Tasty food and well presented, good service, only seemed one waitress, who got manager assistance in food order request, however, he did take the order incorrectly for soup, as I got tomato soup instead (lovely rich tomato, so forgiven.!) Nice friendly guy though! The neighbourhood is not the best, so if you sit outside, keep your belongings close to you. Recommended!

Their schnitzel is tasty, and the Gruner Veltliner wine washed it down nicely. An informal and comfortable place to eat near the main train station. Not the best Austrian meal I've ever had, but a good dinner nonetheless. On the English menu they make a big note that Tips are not included in the price. I wonder if the same wording appears on the German menu?
