After a very nice long walk, in the snow, all around the valley, having started from the cableway station and having also crossed the beautiful lake dam, we pleasantly had a stop in this nice and warm refuge/restaurant, for some relax and a bit of "fuel". Here we enjoied their blueberry cake, covered with whipped cream, together with a nice cup of tea. What a pleasure! After that, we rented some sledges and with them we went down for approx 8 km, on a snowy track, till reaching the Village. Fantastic experience!
We had a coffee break here and tried their signature dish of home-made blueberry cake with the right amount of fresh cream. Very tasty indeed. It is a homey place, friendly personnel. Next time will definitely try their lunch.
We went several times here, for Ice creams, coffee and the local foods, you could taste the nature and quality. You could also rent bikes and steps to go down. The scenery around is beautiful and the people of the restaurant easygoing and extremely friendly.
We were so glad, to reach the restaurant after a very nice walk around Vals. If you are looking for an authentic place in Switzerland, you have to visit this Restaurant and Hotel. Overall I would say - great price/value. The food is fresh and the service very friendly. Would go again!
39.40.- ch fr it is the price for some local sausages ( not at all outstanding ) and 2 glasses of poor Sangiorgio red wines... Don't bother adding the cost of the ingredients it is a ripoff We did stay for the meal ! Who can afford poor food at expensive prices ?
Nicely located near the Zervreila dam, very polite service. They are known for their blueberry cake (Heidelbeerkuchen), which is indeed very good :). Also tried the Capuns, very good too.
Traditional Swiss. Fondue great. Wine excellent. Sled back to Vals in the Winter!! Unique unique. Dress warmly, because you are in the mountains....
Just a few steps from Lake Zervreila and Damm, this is a welcome pit stop on a long walk from Vals and back. They serve a very tasty Bündner barley soup, a good idea during a winter hike, but their Tour de Force is the blueberry cake they prefer to serve with a snout whipped cream. Absolutely loved this cake, as it is tasty, full of fruit and not overloaded with additional sugar give real energy for the return leg of the hike.
