This place is definitely a must if visiting the Swiss National Park. Traditional Swiss hotel with history, Ideally situated in the middle of the park and at the start of several hikes. Good restaurant.
Staying in the hotel we could explore the menu that is composed almost exclusively of traditionally and local dishes. Although not stellar, everything we tasted was pretty good and made with local and tasty ingredients. A good opportunity to discover the local cuisine with a friendly service.

We hiked here as we wanted to have something small and local to eat when we where hiking in the national park. The restaurant was clean, partly newly done and very friendly service. It was a lovely place to make a stop over and have some food and drinks.
This hotel is in the perfect location to explore the national park with walks starting from the front door. The price of food is reflective of the fact this is one of two places to stay in the national park. A vegan main cost around £25 with a small salad side starter costing around £12. Non vegan dishes were a minimum of £30. As there is nowhere to eat nearby and there isn’t even a kettle in the room most people have to eat all three meals at the hotel (breakfast is included in the room price). Be very careful eating here if you have allergies or are vegan vegetarian. I was misinformed and told a margarine was vegan when it actually contained buttermilk. Looking back I am now unconvinced that other ‘vegan’ foods I was served were vegan… is there such a thing as vegan French dressing? Other than this staff were friendly and there is a coop a 30min bus away.
Stayed for one night on tour around Switzerland. Scenic location albeit traffic noise is a little intrusive but gets much quieter late evening. Room en suite very basic/dated but clean and comfortable and the balcony overlooked the car park. The food in the restaurant though is very good, lots of choice and they’ve kindly prepared a menu in English thank you. Staff very welcoming and helpful.
Cozy hotel with clean rooms (including the shared bathrooms). Together with the kitchen that serves various local delicates, this hotel is the perfect place to come back to from a hiking trip in the beautiful surrounding area.
