Had a nice meal at Gaijin. Tried of the items on the menu and they were all very tasty, rich comfort food. It is clear that thats the kind of food the chefs are passionate about and for good reason. My main critique would be that by the end of the meal my palate was a bit overwhelmed by the rich, salty, fried, smokiness of everything. Perhaps dish selection may have played a part, but I would have appreciated some more light refreshing, palate cleansing dishes to offness the rich meatiness of everything else..pickled vegetables, seaweed salad that sort of thing comes to mind. Keep up the good work.

Easily one of the best restaurants in Zurich (my top for sure The food is fantastic! Mr. Shu himself came to speak with us and explained the concept of the restaurant and the idea behind some of the items on the menu which was awesome. Everything on the menu incredible, the staff were great to speak to and the overall atmosphere so warm and inviting. Overall, this was a fantastic eating experience.

great Japanese restaurant was eating perfect and their cocktails are very tasty. the service is also very likely the best service I have received here in Switzerland. the waiter was also very friendly, offered drink recommendations without asking us, and eating came very fast. I also like the atmosphere of the restaurant. my friend got mama shus spicy korean fried chicken and I got the spicy korean pork belly the rice for more salat enslaving.

gaijin izakaya is a place we eat for consistently good, innovative cocktails and always a fun time. after several dinners there the new product convinces us as much as the old standards. the mood is cool and hip. it is probably not the place for someone who prefers hushed background and stiff formality. the restaurant is a contemporary Asian rendezvous. it is an elegant way to tell them that they appeal to the well visited zürchers who want the best of asia and know where they get it. I like how the menu is diverse, but not overwhelming. each dish is served family style, reminds of the nights of their first business trip to asia, where they wonder how it is possible that each dish is packed with so much nuance and makes. gaijin advocates the mut and thus the deserved bib gourmand this year. I am happy to go back to try the new dishes on the menu. ganbatte gaijin!

really good food! I would repeat it. if I have to give a suggestion, I would say to turn music a bit low. it was pretty loud to dinner. for cocktails is great!

I visited this restaurant with my friends at the beginning of September and it was one of my best experiences from Zürich. It's really a hidden gem right in the centre of the town. The staff was very nice and professional, even the owner came to ask if everything was okay. The most important part, however, is the food as a person struggling with a gluten free diet I was very nicely surprised at how many amazing gluten free dishes they could offer. Still can't decide, which one was the best, but I've definitely never had better brussel sprouts in my life, that's for sure. Switzerland is normally a bit more expensive than other countries, so be ready to pay a little more than you're used to, but the prices were completely reasonable and average compared to other restaurants in Zürich. Highly recommend!
