It was my last night at Zurich, and I wanted to have a really good Sunday dinner away from the touristy spots in Zurich. I found this restaurant, and it has good local reviews. I wasn't disappointed. The restaurant has a really good food, friendly staff, and a lovely ambience. I highly recommend this local restaurant to anyone visiting Zurich.
Yesterday night I went with my fiancé at Gartenhof for a romantic dinner and we had a really good time. The venue is simple but nice and although there are not many things in the menu there are dishes for all demands. The food was very good! I recommend the Rind Tatar and the Lamm plate. If you are lucky enough and see that the creme brûlée is included in the desert menu you should order it..maybe the best in Zurich!!The staff was veryyyyyy friendly and helpful.Lastly, i have to say that it was not so pricey for a Zurich restaurant..we payed 160CHF for two starters, two main, 2 baskests of bread, one desert and two glasses of wine!The only negative was that the ravioli filled with shrimps had so much garlic and onion that I had to ask to replace it :(
For the month of January the restaurant has a special program with French mussels and oysters. The oysters come in two prices 4.50 and 11.00 CHF each, both are tasty but of course the more expense one is more savory. The mussels come in two sauces with a creamy white wine and a coconut, I preferred the first.
We came for a business lunch and found a nice table in the back part of the restaurant.All was very clean and with a nice setup. Service was very friendly and all food tasted excellent.Need to return to check all the other interesting options on the menu.
I checked google map to go there.Open time is written till 0:00 but seems they will stop kitchen 9:00 and close 10:30.(negative 1)I arrived there 9:20 Caucasian waiter ready to refuse me but latin or black race guy asked kitchen to accept me.(negative 2 and positive 1)After took the table asked my favorite to the colored waiter,then I was asked change table by Caucasian waiter(negative 3)I need to ask the white waiter to bring menu.(negative 4)But there's no English menu,Caucasian waiter explained generously (positive 2)Main was served way too fast with Rustic presentationFood was shifted by Center position.(Negative 5)Meat and veggies are well balanced.(positive3)But sweet potatoes are way too much,unfortunately it killed harmony of meat n veggies.(negative 6 I wasn't served bread.I needed to ask the caucasian waiter to serve it.(Negative 7)They start to pack up restaurant while eating.Caucasian waiter no care to me after main instead of asking behind Caucasian couple and Caucasian groups and in front of Caucasian 2 business men.(huge negative 6)Probably finished Packing inside,Latin waiter came to me immediately and asked me dinner was ok and serve desert.(positive 3)Fondant au chocolate has Citrus ice-cream and jus with pistachio.But i guess it was mistake again.Pistachio was under jus.it wasn't love to eater if chef intended to serve Jus and pistachio together.I was realized pistachio almost finish up plate.(negative 8)If They don't have colored waiter my experience of Gartenhof was bizarre.Making sense Customer Almost all Caucasian.Positive3,Negative 8.I am often treated as Asian slight or non German speaking slight in Zurich sometimes.Let me harsh denounce it as colored opinion.
Nice food. Nice terrace during spring & summer time. Menu: not exhaustive – all fresh dishes! + : evening menu: starter – main dish (choose between meat, fish and vergi) – dessert. Perfect address is you enjoy fresh made food and a casual atmosphere.
This is in the Weidikon area of Zurich. Nice restaurant with good food and service. Not a huge menu which I liked as sometimes it's difficult to choose. Good service from the staff as there were 8 of us and sometimes service can be bad with a big table. They handled it well. Would definitely go back.
Simple terroir kitchen at it's best. Service and atmosphere is very warm and personal. The cook Avi Kantor knows how to bring out the best of swiss products from local producers with a portion of lightness. Good for business lunch as well.
