Food is as usual excellent. Even something as simple as the hamburger it turns into an exquisite experience. Their staff is absolutely the friendliest in town, where it is already unusual to be treated nicely in a restaurant. At James Joyce they make an extra effort and they succeed. Thank you for that. As a foreigner in this place for over 5 years and 10 in Switzerland I cherish it big time. Beers are very nice and the atmosphere very British! Love it!
My favorite pub on the way home from work. Eat or just have a glass of wine and some Tzüriiiwasser (big selection of beer of course for beer drinkers). Hang out - friendly staff who remember their clients. Very friendly and welcoming place.
Pleasant atmosphere, summer sit outside, truly nice staff, simple but good hearty and sometimes fine food, excellent service, great location in mid-city, selection of quality beers and very good wines to have by the glass or bottle.
Food poisoning... Nice layout and perfect location Went for a cheeseburger (by the way they did not use regular steaks as usual but what they call "burger" ones) and had to suffer all day with fever Although friendly service, will never ever go back
This restaurant takes you back in the twentys. The Ambiente is really nice, you feel well just by entering. A lot of banker take their after work beer, so don't be fooled by all the suits, you can go in with your jeans ;-) We've ordered the James Joyce hamburger with fried egg, bacon and backed onions. My partner ordered as an extra truffle fries, good choice. The burgers are juicy and really tasty. The size of the portion is enough. It is not a cheap restaurant but you will get value for money. We will definitely come again.
James Joyce is an institution in Zürich for bankers enjoying a pub beer and juicy burgers. At lunch it's a mire sober environment but after work the beer flows and the bankers relax from their day. Unlike some other pubs in Zürich, James Joyce is less of a place to watch football, and puts their attention more to their menu.
I go to this bar once a month and meet some friends there. The order is always the same, the "Complete" burger. It's very tasty and filling. This is our favourite place.
We have been at this pub with 13 people for business lunch and they dealt with our group in a perfect way. Drinks and food were served in sync.The food selection (fish, sandwiches, etc) was good and all of us enjoyed it. They also serve nice local white wine from Zurich.We were sitting at the terrace which is recommendable. The interior of the place is also very nice. A place to come back.
