Not my first choice of an Italian restaurant. The menu is standard and the food is mediocre at best. The only advantage is the large selection of nice Italian wine. A place to have a quick lunch or a glass of wine but I would not recommend it for dinner or a celebration. The prices are fair for Zurich and the service is efficient.
Anytime I visit Zurich Santa Lucia is definitely on my list of places to eat. The Pizza is great! The outdoor patio area is great for lunch or dinner. I have always had a great experience when I've visited.
I have a card that reads: Food Allergies: Wheat, Lactose Intolerant, Shellfish!The waiters were so accommodating and made sure the chef would make the dish I wanted, just a food marinara sauce and 2nd time, a good meat sauce. It was fresh.The pasta was perfect. The salad was exactly how I want it with a dressing of lemon, oil, garlic and salt/pepper. My husband who can have anything, went crazy over their brick oven pizza! And we are from NY!!! I taught cooking for 4 yrs. I am very careful and do my research. WE came back a second time, so we did not have to go through the whole asking, checking and rechecking. Although, I did. Fresh. Like my sauce. Delicious. The place was packed! We MADE reservations to avoid waiting. When we were there, there was a bridal party with her bridesmaids, many families, some business people, many couples, many locals . . . can I say more?!
We didn't have the pleasure to have their food Bec the table were empty but we weren't allowed to sit The waiters were incredibly rude and after making us wait for over 20 min in an 90% empty Restuarant we left !!! Shocking and shows how badly trained the staff is Thank god we didn't eat the food
Restaurant prices are quite high in Zurich so I was pleasantly surprised with the delicious food at very reasonable prices! Liked it so much that I ate here twice! The waiters were so friendly - they made me feel like a local. Definitely stop in for a visit!
I'm Italian and I know it. Price is very high, though we are in Zurich and you cannot expect much more (Margherita around 17 chf). Pizza is ok but not great, it has the typical layer of oil on top that doesn't exist in Italian pizzas. Good service and extremely great location.
We popped in here for lunch on a hot sunny afternoon. We walked up from the river and the only negative I have about this restaurant is that by entering from that side (where the outside seating is) is the sight of all the bins lined up right next to the entrance. If we hadn't been able to get a table away from them then we would have gone elsewhere. Once seated the service was attentive, the food was tasty and the environment really pleasant. It became busy quickly but the service remained fine. We only went inside to use the loo but it certainly looked spacious and a nice place to eat too. Worth a visit
We had a late night dinner and it was ok. Nothing special but the food was good. Service was friendly. Also the atmosphere was nice. We were happy to find a restaurant which is open late and even served pizza from the oven.
