This place has to have one of the best wine lists in Lucerne, with plenty of the classics, including Opus One (by the glass!) and Grange, plus some new world wines to discover. The list is extensive, with wines from around the world and, of course, Swiss. We got excellent recommendations from our jovial waiter and tried a Swiss Pinot noir and a Chilean Carmenere which were both excellent and adapted to the food. In fact, if you want to try something really exceptional and like smooth full bodied reds, go for the 2009 Almaviva produced by the Rothschild family in Chile. The food was nothing exceptional but made with fresh ingredients and well cooked, from the multicolored tomatoes and burrata to the grilled lamb with couscous. Since there were more tomatoes in my friend's main dish we were offered some fries to complement and help finish the wine.If you manage to get into the cellar section of the restaurant and like wine, you'll be in hog heaven as you eat and drink surrounded by a multitude of fine vintages from around the world. All in all a great experience, I'll go back... and this is not the first time there!
