We have been visiting Thai restaurants for over 30 years so are always interested in sampling local Thai fare when visiting a new town.At Thai Puka we ordered several stock standard dishes from their menu. While the food was served promptly, cooked adequately and the meat was tender enough, every dish was lacking in depth of flavour in comparison to equivalent dishes we've had at most other Thai restaurants. Instead of having a rich and dynamic taste, the curries could best be described as fairly bland gravy, more like what one would expect to find in a cheap food court outlet.Staff were polite enough and several were on duty even though it was a quiet evening. Despite this, it was hard to get anyone's attention to place our order, request drinks etc as they all were constantly preoccupied with something on the screen at the till counter and not keeping an eye on the seated customers. For this price level, we expect better. Next time we are in Albury, we will visit the Thai restaurant a little further along Dean St instead.
