I wanted to eat rice during the trip and I found the Chinese restaurant near the hostel and went to the full Taiwanese. About Us

I've been a parent and I've always been looking forward to the new one when I can come back to the pleasure of the poulet sechuan. the restaurant is rather small and modest furnishings, as it is more set on take-away customers. over midday I would reserve a place because it will be very full. otherwise, super friendly staff, real China flair and super tasty eating at fair price!

the Kung Pao chicken I had was definitely NOT authentic. There were no chili, no garlic, no peanuts, but cubes of carrot, cucumber!

because the restaurant is more in second row, it is visited mainly by masters but also new guests are welcomed very friendly. the interieur is not as exaggerated as in other Chinese restaurants. for this, a lot of value is placed on ease and quality. so it must be.We have already pre-ordered a pekingente on the day before and could actually save us that in the menu. Nevertheless, I was curious what could have expected us here. I was surprised how versatile the offer is. more surprised than my look at the prices. these are clearly below the average and this, as we found out later, with an excellent quality of the food. WOW.We got, as usual for pekingente, first the skin of the duck. I am not trying to describe the taste or how crispy the skin was. But I can tell them we were thrilled. in this preparation one understands why a traditional dish like this, enjoys over hundreds of years of an incomparable popularity. already at the first bite, you can be convinced that the chef still lives the tradition.I regret each one who can escape such food. Our conclusion:We were for the first time in futo but with certainty not the last time. the focus is on the quality of the food and not on its presentation. this can be transferred to the whole locally. concentrated on the essential. who needs a crisp snack when eating tastes.I can absolutely recommend this futo. Family businesses like these are why I like to leave the fingers of restaurant chains.

I always like the food they make. You have to try the Duck. The cook spends a lot of his time making sure the duck tastes fresh juicy and crunchy at the same time. Their butter lemon chicken is also just perfect. This is family business, very friendly. We come here for good foods and good talks with the owner as well. Lovely hours every time. Strongly recommended!

on my birthday I was with my family at China restaurant fu to gassed. the food was very fine and the wetin was extremely loving and very attentive. the ambiente we found, probably a bit more cozy, i.e. the device looks a little sober and the lighting too bright. but all in all we can recommend this locally.

we had lunch today, nothing really outstanding, deserves 4 stars because despite the restaurant was full the service was very fast and the quality more than good. good choice especially for those who work in the surroundings.

You have to know where they are to get there, but the food is worth the effort. My wife and I lived within walking distance of Futo, but didn't know about it until a colleague described a business lunch she had there. We went for dinner, and Futo instantly became our "go to" place for excellent Chinese food, to the point that we went there weekly, and went there for celebration dinners with friends. We've since moved about 250 km away, but every time we visit Basel, we go to Futo. And we also buy a bunch of take-out to take home, freeze, and enjoy when we're missing such good food. This is not a fancy place, but it is clean, well-lit, and nicely decorated. Plus, the Law family is remarkably friendly, and always greet us warmly when we visit. He is the chef, and you can watch him in action through the large windows of the kitchen. His pork dishes are great -- the meat is very tender, with no gristle at all. I'm told that it takes him a lot of effort to ensure this, so pork dishes run out about mid-week. His black-bean sauce is homemade and EXCELLENT. But we have many favorite dishes -- from tofu in soja sauce to Singapore rice noodles to squid in a ginger sauce. He doesn't use MSG, and if you prefer your food to be less salty than the typical European likes, just ask and he'll cut back. For our special meals, we often pre-order his Peking Duck. The first time we had it at Futo was a revelation! I later had an opportunity to travel to Beijing for business, and decided that I had to try this dish in its home town. My colleagues and I looked for the best place for Peking Duck -- and yet, I found that Futo's was far superior!Mrs. Law is the face of Futo, and she makes sure that all their guests are comfortable and well-served. She is a warm and friendly person, making visits there so much better.Futo is generally packed for lunch on weekdays -- the local workers at Bayer, Roche and other companies near the train station are big patrons. So, get there early (11:30) if you're going then.At night, though, because there is virtually no foot traffic by the restaurant, there generally are tables available.Go Eat and Enjoy! We do.
