I was yesterday, 22.8.17, with a group of 20 people in the Pellicano.It was told by the organizers of our group that eating, an Italian buffet, fr. 60 p.P. Drinks.A proud price, I thought, but it will probably be a great buffet with appetizer, lead and dessert. that was not the case. it was just a rather lean buffet with antipasti, the least freshly prepared, and also a lean pannacotta. qualitatiw was ok, but to ask for it for about 60.- is simply a cheeky, because service was virtually not offered. we served at the buffet where only 4 plates were ready. there was only one white and one red wine. For the drinks, we also paid for the 17th-. which seemed quite expensive to me. (It was mainly mineral water drank.) but it was dismissed for eating fr. 30th- in maximum fr. 40.- enough.For the price of 60.- we would have received at least one 3-course menu in many other restaurants and had had a covered table and had been served.The pelicano wants to be cool. this simple art restaurant is also ok, but there are the prices just not fit.Well, that could be done better at this beautiful place.I'm sure I'll never get in there anymore and my colleagues are probably the most as well.Jolanda bernardi
the place and the appearance are great! also the live music is great. but I was shocked by the state of the toilets! says a lot about a operation! the prices are for a self-service restaurant under all cannon. the waiting time for the food was quite ok. the red wine had felt 30 grad celsius and was inviolable. more a sorry, we got nix better offered. Pity! it would really be a super place for this type of bar/restaurant. we're not coming back!
Ideally located near the meeting point of Birs and Rhine (Birskopfli,) this Cafe is a great location for nice cocktails (Hugo, Strawberry Daiquiri to name a few) and some good food (Yes, they have veggie options - Veggie Burger Samosas) ! A great family place, easy vibe, lots of people around and a separate children's pool for water fun. Fantastic Sunday getaway in Basel during the Summers. they also have a Sunday brunch, which looks like a pretty good deal (remember you are in Switzerland)The large open Barbecue area is just in front of it and one can easily walk into the rivers. We usually spend time at the Veranda and then move out to relax on the green.A must go to place in Basel.
If you forgot to take a grill it's perfect place to go to. Food is relatively cheap and delicious. Fresh made. If there is no free table you can sit down on a grass near to the river. Love it. You can pay by card so no need to have a pocket money:)
expensive 12.- for a very small burger without nothing is simply too expensive. is not as different as a simple sandwich hold only warm - you notice it is a self-service restaurant, no covered tables, no service etc. which you can add. pasta salat 12.- ok, lammspiess 16.- is also ok friendly despite many people the lady was super friendly! wanted to even come and clean the table (I then made myself so the others don't have to stand any longer....)WARTEZEITEN it took and took tasty during the small selection should be somehow faster (you can also have already lengthen on the cash stand up to you go on) Of course, the deposits are used and not protected, is stop! but you could get for little money washable pillowcases, sew yourself, if necessary write out a pillowsuit competition for the guests and see what such a creative impression is. but the faded parts are a guess! all in all ok if you have no great expectations. it doesn't need so much to get much better!Ps. the plaque is badly deciphered (even if the font is so great)
great location, with this weather very many people, not just cheap. had a vegi burger with aubergine, super tasty, for my taste a bit too salty. which was not great, I and my wife had both a piece of speck in the burger. fried on the same grill, but you should avoid that.
last year I was thrilled, but this season was so bad until now!A day you had to stand for over 20 minutes for a drink and that even though the staff in the kitchen was standing around. the close pass at the cash register was ignored by the others. Another time was the burger (12th) after only 2 minutes. after the first bite it was also clear why: it was prepared and then reheated. the result is a dry bun, a patty is almost black and still cold.No thanks, as next time I prefer to take a picnic.
We stopped there for drinks but the food looked good, too. The service was efficient and friendly. Like many places, you pay at one place and collect your order at another. You pay a 2Fr deposit per glass, again typical.
