The title says it all.This is the bakery, village shop and cafe all in one.Right but the main bus stop and the gondola station.We stopped here looking for a light lunch and weren't disappointed. Goulash soup and a bread roll ( well it was raining outside so winter food was allowed).Lovely service from the ladies who run it. Utterly charming.The sort of establishment you wish every English village had.Oh, and the shop sells all manner of wares.A delight.
Nice little backerie across from the train station. Good food and assortment of cakes and cookies. We always stop here before our tram ride up to Murren.
In my entire trip in Switzerland I have not met kinder people than the staff at the von Allmen Bakery! Their food is amazing but what really stood out for me was the warmth of their staff.
So has some time to stop off here before heading to Interlaken and grabbed some of the fresh pastries and they were delicious!! Would a stop
Baked locally, fresh food, friendly folks, can also pick up some basic groceries or nicely made sandwich for lunch on hike while waiting for cable car.
After being ignored for about 5 minutes after entering the restaurant, we finally managed to find someone working who reluctantly provided us some "food." Overpriced sandwiches and even more expensive water. Not content to simply be unhelpful, the staff then proceeded to reply to our questions with condescension and mockery. Would give a higher rating to a vending machine installed in place of this shop.
As soon as we walked in rude staff, not one smile or greeting from either of the girls. Could not wait to get out. Had heard bad things from other about quality of food and would never go back. Only positive is the location and if they did not have this location, then can see no reason to go there.
