Great food and people, rooms are simple but clean. Owners advice to get up at 3:30 for breakfast and leave at 4 am to climb Balmhorn was correct. High prices but reasonable compare to other places in swiss alps berghotels.
It was a beautiful hike to get there and I’d say not too difficult but rather enjoyable. Dinner was extra nice, by far the soup was the best, a real warmth to the heart after a cold hiking day. Beds are comfy and they’ve got hot water to shower. I’d say overall it was really great!
Beautiful place, good food but on the day we went terrible service. Most waiters were in a bad mood, rude and very stressed. After receiving a table it took long to get a chance to order drinks or food. Asking for advice concerning menu we got a stressful answer and I felt rushed to order. I saw many people waiting in frustration and one man who had already been seated was hushed away in middle of ordering by the owner, saying kitchen was closed (half an hour before closure. I don’t know if they can get enough waiters (or the owners are nice enough to keep them working for them) but I would not go back for a second time.
Just was in the restaurant. Roesti were good. The cake was really great. Staff is friendly.
Beautiful mountain hotel with nice staff and good food. My plan was to sleep just one night here but couldn't imagine any better place; so I stayed one more night. I joined two of the hotel staff walking up to the Daubensee lake after their duties to watch the night sky. Was absolutely amazing.
