Stopped here as part of the Sound of Music Tour. Was recommended to us by the guide who said we had to try the Apple Strudel. It did not disappoint. Large portion, it was light and sweet. The vanilla sauce is highly recommended as an accompaniment. Would try again.

We were recommended to go here if we wanted good strudel & it was. The cafe has a great look both inside & outside, offers a good menu to choose from & lots of beautiful cakes on displays inside. Although the food was great and reasonably priced the service was a struggle. We ordered lunch to be told it would be served after our strudel, they were able to change this. My cup of tea was served with no milk, I asked twice for milk hence my tea went cold, they bought a fresh one out. When we went to pay we were told it was cash only. I found this unusual in now days especially for a busy tourist town where there is lots of other cafes. luckily we had enough cash on us.

Visited during the Sound of Music tour. We were recommended to try the Apple strudel and vanilla sauce, which we did. Tasted great and reasonable. Had strudel again in Salzburg which was more packed wth Apple and better price.

Like many other tourists we visited the cafe at the suggestion of our tour guide for the sound of music tour. We were on a tight time schedule and many people from our bus was stopping at the cafe as well. We sat for awhile without getting waited on but some people got up and left. We finally got waited on and then our food came relatively fast. We both ordered the apple strudel with vanilla sauce which was described as one of the best strudels. I really love apple strudel and honestly I have had better. I did enjoy it and it was a good size portion for 5,9 euros, a bit pricey. Our next surprise was only cash was accepted, no credit cards and that was after I had to chase down the waiter to pay. The cafe is in a lovely setting and the outside atmosphere is quite relaxing. Too bad we felt very rushed. Their drinks and other desserts looked very inviting. Worth a visit but bring cash and watch your time if on a tour.

Café Braun was recommended by our guide on the Sound of Music Tour but we went to the church and the gift shop first to let the rush clear. Lovely friendly service from the waiter/manager who tolerated my rusty German very well. He took the trouble of explaining how to get pure Apple Juice in Austria as opposed to fizzy/carbonated Juice. Strudel, ice cream and several spoons came extremely promptly and was absolutely delicious; hot and crisp. My daughter chose a slice of berry yoghurt cake which was also very tasty. Decent coffee too. I think 4 drinks, two strudels and the cake came to about €27 so pretty reasonable. I would happily return.

Stopped on Sound of music tour on guides recommendation (clearly benefits for them as mentioned in other reviews). Quick service dealt with onslaught of bus trip efficiently. Cheese strudel average but pricey.Tomato soup tasty. Shocked when only cash taken. Guides should really pre-warn of this if recommending.Think we could have done better by looking around other options in Mondsee.

The apple strudel is absolutely incredible. Plus the cafe itself is very pretty. It's quite popular with tourists so English isn't a problem

We stopped here for a hot drink while on the Sound of Music tour. Our guide recommended it and we gave it a try. We both had hot drinks that were excellent. We also had an apple strudel that was excellent. The restaurant is a traditional cafe and service was really prompt. They know how to handle a rush!It is just across the square from the church that was featured in the movie.
