Von diesem Restaurant hatte ich durch meinen Skilehrer aus dem nahegelegenen Radenthein gehört. Dieses Restaurant nennt bescheiden das beste Hähnchenlokal der Stadt, und in einem anderen Tripadvisor-Kommentar wurde die Auszeichnung „Bestes Hähnchenlokal in Österreich“ zitiert. Deshalb sind wir mit hohen Erwartungen in dieses Restaurant gekommen. Die Umgebung ist bescheiden und urig gestaltet, verfügt jedoch über eine wunderschöne Terrasse mit Blick auf das Tal. Die Speisekarte ist interessant, recht kreativ und hebt sich von anderen Restaurants in der Gegend ab. Hauptsächlich auf Hühnchenbasis, aber auch für Vegetarier geeignet (siehe Bild von Veggie Chimichanga). Ich lebe in Hongkong und kam im Urlaub nach Radenthein und war zu 100 % beeindruckt. Das Huhn (Freilandhaltung) war großartig. Ich hatte das spezielle Brathähnchen des Hauses, während mein Vater die Hähnchenbrust hatte (meine Mutter ist Vegetarierin und hatte das Veggie Chimichanga). Das Fleisch war zart und lecker und übertrifft jedes Brathähnchen, das ich zuvor gegessen habe. Ich kann diesen Ort wärmstens empfehlen. Es ist einfach, behält aber eine gute Qualität bei. Es ist SEHR beliebt, also reservieren Sie unbedingt im Voraus! Reservieren Sie nach Möglichkeit einen Tisch auf der Terrasse. 3 Personen: 1 gemischter Salat zum Teilen, 1 gebratenes Hähnchen, 1 gegrillte Hähnchenbrust, 1 vegetarisches Chimichanga, 2 Desserts, Mineralwasser, Rotwein EUR 65.
Finding this restaurant is a little bit hard as it's on the hilly slope uppon Radentheim. They are specialists for one of the best fried chicken in region. If you like sustainable idea and localy produced ingredients this is a place to visit. Above the hill from the restaurant owners also have a brewery and their local Schilling Granat beer harmonise whatever you choose from the menu. Menu card is right long enough to choose. One of clasic option is fried pieces of a half of a chicken with french fries. But on last visit I've had a hamburger that was delicious: bread with sesame, big piece of grilled meet, slice of fried bacon, caramelised onion and homemade dip and fresh salad. Food has high quality standards which are the same for many years. Inside of restaurant is pretty, native alpine style and very pleasant, made with heart and feeling. Not to mention toilets: clean, fresh and stylish as they can be. Stuff speaks many languages and are very nice and kind. And important for us-dogs are wellcome. Definitely worth visiting this enjoyable place whenever you are near.
Terrific Austrian food at a very fair price. Nice quick service. And you won't find a better selection in beer anywhere!
We found this restaurant purely by accident. Indeed it is on a tiny little back road short cut up the mountain and the road is just about wide enough for a car in some places.Well it was excellent. We made a booking which was just as well as when we went on a Sunday night it was packed. We dined on the terrace which was absolutely lovely with fabulous views down to the village and along the valley. For May it was a very pleasant and warm evening.We had also come to the conclusion that so many restaurants in this area were offering the same food but this one is quite different and had what I described as "a menu"! If you want to get away from the usual items this is certainly a place to try.We had what was described as a tapas starter. Actually it was not that interesting although it was different. The chicken was very good and then we went for a tapas mixed dessert which was outstanding. You got a little of everything which appeals to me.We had some decent wine and the service was very good even though there was a little misunderstanding at the beginning, but nothing that was not sorted immediately.Price - fair for what we had. I thoroughly recommend this restaurant and we shall be going again!
If you are a beer lover-enthusiast, this place is a MUST, it seems the restaurant is specialized on beer and chicken, they have their own beer and many other specials to choose from. Service was very attentive and friendly. Recommended.
We found this restaurant via TripAdvisor and we were more than satisfied. The place is quite big with many tables however this does not seem to have an negative effect on food quality and service. The food was excellent and fairly priced. The portions are not too big which allows you to go for starter and dessert as well!Don't forget to book a place on the beautiful terasse early enough!
We sat outside and had a perfect table with an amazing view. Die Gartenrast is a great place with beautiful terrase overlooking the valley. We ordered the chicken whitch was excellent prepared, the service and atmosphere was perfect. We highly reccomend this restaurant.
Great Chicken, but also the best Kas Noodles. Try two for an appetizer or three for a main. Also try the new beer brewed by the owner. Delicious. Service and atmosphere perfect as usual. We love this restaurant. Closed Monday and Tuesday for your information.
