We had dinner in the cafe, we order and entrecôte de cheval with butter café de Paris. No wonder, it has been one of the best entrecôtes that I had. The place is very authentic and it is a kept secret restaurant in the area mainly visited by locals.

Saturday lunchtime and this place was absolutely buzzing/full. Yes that effected the service a little but the meal was so worth waiting for.Best Fillet des perches (the local lake fish) I have tasted in the area including top 5 star establishments. All cooked to perfection and delivered with a smile.Booking is essential but if you can make time for visit you will not be disappointed. They also offer some lovely unusual dishes with the flavours of Asia/Indian spices - superb menu it was hard to choose.

Great menu that is always changing so no chance of getting bored with the same things. Friendly efficient staff (especially Veronique).

We enjoy this Restaurant so much and so often, that I don't know where to start my review. I went there +20 times the last 6 months before writing my review. The chef Benoit is as creative as nice. Staff is very welcoming, the place is simple and cosy. The ambiance is laid back and you feel quickly at home. They have a very nice terrasse for sunny days. The main room became very confortable as there are pillows on the chairs. They also have a "café" area where you can also have dinner if you wish. When it comes to FOOD... It's simply brilliant! You can enjoy classics as well as the most surprising dishes in the area. The menu changes often, so i go there very often and don't have time to get bored of the menu. Wine Menu is full of nice discoveries from the Lavaux as well as suggestions from other areas/countries. Finally a place where Wines are good and not expensive! (We had a Margaux from Château Siran 2008 below 50 bucks...! Same for a Pinot noir from Grisons that was outstanding)For the ones working not far, it deserves to try the "plat du jour"; always something nice. You feel that they all love what they do and they improve constantly. Booking your table is highly recommended!

It happened so often, but never tried. I'm glad to be regular now that I'm in danger. Nice on their outdoor terrace under the trees. Friendly waitress, excellent food (filets de perche). Great discovery and now we test the rest of the menu!!!

Again and as always great dinner last night, service as we make it with a big smile. The new menu is simply amazing. I love the cook and the owner coming to welcome us to see if everything was good. As always great

Good food in a cozy environment. Eating out with some beers on the terrace is best. Much better value when you go to the lunch menu than dinner, but always reliable for a high-quality meal and friendly staff. Never had a bad experience.

I lived in St Legier for 4 years and since 2014 I have been constantly disappointed by this restaurant. Today was no different. All bakeries were closed for October holidays, so I took my family to the Cafe de Place for lunch. Most of my children are vegetarian, so of course there is no vegetarian menu. We had to insist on sitting outside because we have a very active 19 months old, which obviously has sharpened one of the napkins Katia (very young woman) and from there she was rude and looked at me every time with ecle when I tried to ask her something. Of course, I don't speak French well, but when I came to me, I said rudely WAS? I thought Cafe de Place tried to have more English-speaking servers, as it is in an area with many English speakers. Anyway, our server was very nice, but forgotten items we ordered. When I asked her about a bread basket, I was incubated by Katia. As usual the food was bland and did not have salt or pepper on the table. I know Cafe de Place had many different chefs and owners over the years, but it never seems to get better. I can't imagine why it's busy unless there's no competition. My husband is Swiss and he agrees with me too, so I know it's not just because of my American palate. To be honest, I'm done wasting time and money into the restaurant. I swear, never again!
