Perfect Swiss National Day: 4 course menue with an appetizer for 58 Sfr. Lobstersoup, chickenfricassee then beef with gnocchi/vegetables and finally dessert. First Prosecco and then Primitivo. Just excellent food and drinks with the nice view towards Jungfraumassif.

We started with a reservation for Wednesday May 25 at 7pm which was confirmed. On the day of the reservation, we called to see if they opened earlier. We were told they had been trying to reach us by phone, but never left any message: they were closed that night. So we made a new reservation for Friday May 27, at 6.30 pm, which we were told was their opening time.We arrived at the restaurant at 6.25pm on the 27th. We asked where the Brasserie was, the first bar person said it was closed. We stated we had a reservation for 6.30 pm, another more senior bar person came, said it only opened at 7pm. He took us to a table in a very stuffy room (all tables were set, one large one for a group) and said he would check if they opened at 6.30. Came back and said that no, 7 was the earliest. We debated whether to stay, asked to see the menu: it was a very short fixed menu and a four-line a-la-carte list. Outside, on the bulletin board where they show menus, they have a very extensive a-la-carte list for Jack's Brasserie, which is why we had made our reservation. We need an a-la-carte menu as we have dietary restrictions. They blamed the booking errors on the receptionist who took the reservation and to the fact that this was the season's opening day! If this was a brand new hotel and restaurant on their first day of service, we might accept this lame excuse. But this is supposed to be THE Hotel and Restaurant in Wengen.I hope that Michelin or Gault-Millau people make a point to visit this place incognito on their season opening day!!!Their website has been completely wrong about menus, opening days too.The lobby and the location of Jack's Brasserie was musty and stuffy and airless even on a warm day.The personnel did not even have the courtesy to offer us a welcome free drink for all our troubles and their incompetence!!!

Great atmospehere, impeccable service, incredible food. A very relaxing place, that made us feel welcome, and spoiled us with excellent cuisine.

Nice and very complete à la cart menu with a lot of tipical swiss and french food. Very good is the organisation of the half board, you can always switch on the à la cart menu if you don't want the daily menu, paying only a little surcharge price.

The brasserie is in a fine Edwardian salle but I found it hard to find anything appetising on the menu. The salmon trout on lentils with chorizo was ok, and the portion quite small, which was fine for me, but probably not for a normal male appetite. The bolognese was cold and arrived 10 minutes after we had received our mains and also mean of portion; a supplementary portion took a further 10 minutes by which time the pasta was finished! The lamb shank was well cooked but also only luke-warm. The service was a bit grumpy, with the exception of the charming owner who explained the wine to us when we arrived. A great pity as the space deserves better!

We saw an ad for an Asian Style Taste of Switzerland meal for two for 84 Swiss Francs, including two glasses of wine and a half liter of water. Given Swiss restaurant prices, this sounded a little too good to be true, but indeed, that was the correct price, made possible by small serving sizes. The meal consisted of green pea soup, salad, veal appetizer with rosti (like hash browns), Swiss style steamed mixed vegetables, mashed potatoes, and grilled "chicken" which turned out to be a white fish, actually (translation problem). This was all served at one time in a large bento box, which explained the long wait before the first "course" arrived. Dessert was a very tangy and delicious scoop of passion fruit ice cream for each of us.The restaurant is in the Hotel Regina, and we were given the choice of sitting in the brasserie or in the more private side gallery of the hotel overlooking the lovely village and valley below. I think this was because the place was virtually empty due to a week of rain, so we lucked out in our seating location. Service was fine except for the aforementioned long wait between ordering and food arrival. Overall we felt we had made a nice discovery and were able to enjoy a classy meal in a grand setting, featuring some tastes of Swiss cuisine at "bargain" prices (for Switzerland).

This place really makes Faulty Towers look rather good ! Whilst the food is for the most part passable , the ridiculously inept service takes the whole experience down to quite miserable depths. In addition no effort at all seems to have been made to decorate the room in an appropriate manner so as to lift it out of its unmistakeable drabness.

If you liked the hotel in, "The Shining," but thought it had too much style, this is the place for you. Ugh. Words cannot describe the misery. The decor is a disaster, there are screaming children everywhere, the owner demanded to know why we asked for oil and vinegar, the bread is bad, in a country of amazing bread, and the lighting sucks. There is just nothing good about this place, and it is expensive. Did I mention that they lost our credit card, apologized, said they would take the wine off the bill to make it up to us, and then didn't? Just a disaster all around.
