Traditional Austrian restaurant with a very traditional cuisinу suitable both for lunch and for dinner. I would recomend local dishes especially sausages and local beer. My favourite beer in this restaurant is Wiener Lager. Service is not very fast but good enough.

We were told this was the best place to go but found the food and ambiance to be quite ordinary. We had had exceptional food at Figlmuller the night before.
Après une visite commentée de 2 heures dans le quartier de la Hofburg, nous sommes allés déjeuner dans ce restaurant avec mon épouse. L'accueil fut tout à fait agréable et les plats que nous avons commandés pour un déjeuner pas trop copieux fort bons. La carte comportait par ailleurs quelques spécialités austro-viennoises. Pour arroser le tout, un vin blanc du cru (grüner Weltliner) de bon aloi. A recommander sans réserve.

Old traditional service, attentive but unobtrusive, knowledgeable waiters who all speak good English. Very good food and desserts. Always full and mostly Austrian clients so one must assume they know good food. Prices are reasonable for Vienna. For many of the menu choices they offer half portions. We enjoyed it so much that we went back a second time before our departure.
Das Leupolds liegt sehr zentral und verfügt über einige Aussenplätze. Das bestellte Essen war soweit okay, allerdings fehlten uns bei den Schnitzeln die Beilagen . Bei der Vorspeise war der Spargel leider in der Balsamicocreme ertränkt. Die Preise liegen etwas über dem Niveau.
I would describe this as a typical 'local' restaurant in Vienna with the range of dishes found in a large number of establishments of this kind. There is a large number of meat main courses (wish there were more innovative vegetarian options or we would have come for dinner.) We sat in the open air on a very pleasant day and enjoyed tea and really good pastries. Service was fine and prices 'average' for a restaurant of its type. It is on a busy road with lots of pedestrians and close to the trams and underground stops so plenty to see going by. The waiters worked hard to clear the tables and everything was clean and nicely presented.
