It is a litany that I have to give this advice, since Museum café usually fulfill an important role in museum visit. However, we found the food substandard, the staff disinterested and partly gross, and they defy modern and very normal payment methods: they do not accept any card payment for orders under 15 euro, but there is no indication in the café or on the menu that they charge 15 euro por a card payment even if you had only two coffee. This despite the fact that could easily just charge the bank or credit card charges as payment charge. They reveal themselves as a substandard tourist trap. All payments, even for small amounts, are easily made with cards in all of Vienna's city center without extra charges, just the leopold café part of the otherwise absolutely fabulous Leopold Museum does not accept cards and is even prepared to overcharge well beyond credit card charges without service delivery. Probably illegal and if credit card companies New about this practice they would exclude the cafe from accepting their cards at all. Which is a deliberate rip-off, one of the staff members agreed with me this was the case and confirmed it is impossible for guests to know about the unusual payment practice and that therefore customers are not given a choice to buy elsewhere if they only have cards - which is not strange in several EU countries incl Austria you pay everything by card.
