Really busy and lively restaurant for lunch when you're on the Maiskogel. Large portions of home cooked mountain fare - lots of sausages, chicken. Great value for the hearty portions.
AVOID AT ALL COST!!!! Really rude staff, appalling food, ridiculous prices. Ordered a bacon sandwich, a cheese sandwich, one large beer and one small beer, the price was euros! TOTAL RIP OFF!!!! Quality of sandwiches reminded me of British rail food years ago!...If I could give this place a zero I would have done. Been to Kaprun every year for over years, this has to be the worst experience I have ever had. Again..... AVOID AT ALL COST!!!!!
The meal was decent, and tasted ok. But we had to make seats for ourselves, people were rude and not welcoming at all.
Non of the menu was in English and when I asked the women what food was what she shouted at the top of her voice calling me a ‘mumbling (something in German) boy’. Horrible women behind the till (short grey hair, glasses, smoker), she was...very rude to EVERYONE in the que, even the natives, and got people’s order wrong multiple times and blamed it on the guests for ordering wrong or not speaking clearly. She slapped one man on the arm after she swore at her as she screamed at him. Do NOT send children to get their food as she doesn’t give change to them, or doesn’t give the whole order and then falls them liars when they stand up for themselves. Food is nice and other staff are nice especially the older man with the tash and beard! I can not get over how rude and disrespectful and disgusting the owner was. She pockets the spar change and is very strict with people. Do not recommend at all. The bar at the top of the mountain with the animals is lovely and the bar slighter further down from this one is a lot nicer and has an amazing vibe with A LOT BETTER STAFF!!!!! Would defo recommend them!!! Would never eat here again, she was horrible, can’t stress this enough haha, only good thing was the location and ish the food.
She shortchanged all of my children!! We were coming from the slopes from skiing, and we were shocked by the service! My daughter went to get two ice cream’s which came up to and we gave we received no change , my son...also gave a note and got no change back ! We explained to the lady and she argued back angrily and pretended to not know what change was(in English), this also happened to our friends as he payed for his meal and drink and never got his water!! This has happened multiple times now . The lady was disgusting and rude , I do not recommend this restaurant. The bar on the next slope down has fabulous music and a great vibe!! Definitely recommend that one!!!
My mother, sister and I were visiting for a quick refreshment after some time skiing. My mother went in to get us hot chocolate. She asked the hostess whether the hot chocolate was with or without cream, and she was met with the rudest and...degrading attitude ever. All in all, I do not recommend. They are rude and the hot chocoloate was boring and cold.
No words ti describe the place and the food. You don't do anything ti the place at the first sight but when you eat there you understeand the passion of the owners to prepare the good food. We took a tirolese dish with eggs and...bacon a salad and a goulash soup. Ever eaten better then here. Large portions. Go there if you can. Compliments.
Very good self service restaurant. The food is very good and cheap for the location. The menu is handwriting and may be difficult to understand by the foreigners.
