This local place north of the train station (next to a church) looked ordinary on the outside. There wasn't any logical reason to stop in for dinner. No fancy signs or fancy name. There were no stars from some food rating organization on its window. Only a crowded parking lot and lots of locals walking up and going in. Wait a minute! This is where the locals go to eat!The food, hospitality and prices were great. The indoor restaurant has two plain looking rooms (smoking and non- smoking) and a small bar. But, everyone was having fun. Stiegl was the preferred beer, and everyone was enjoying some. The food was the best part. A delicious local soup called frittatensuppe ( savory flavored broth filled with thin pancakes slices) had people wishing for a second bowl (cost only 3.1€). A luscious schweinbraten with dumpling and Austrian side salad (five different salads on one plate) cost 7.9€. A small schnitzel, fries and Austrian side salad cost 6.1€. The bartender/waitress (Marianne), the cook, and the other patrons went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our dinner. The place is a 15 minute walk from the train station. English menus available. Don't worry about reservations or what you are wearing. This is a local place.
