Wir gehen hier gerne essen, das Essen ist immer gut und die Apfelküchlein köstlich, ganz egal, wie man sie isst (eine Portion mit 5 Krapfen kostet 7,90 CHF).
Super netter Service, waren 2x auf dem Rückweg vom Eiger dort. Apfelchüechli sehr zu empfehlen. Preis/Leistung gut. Schöne Aussicht.

On the way down from Kleine Scheidegg, we stopped here for a ice cream.At the self service restaurant, we asked for ice creams to take-out.The young cashier lady told that we can pick what we want.Next ice cream tank, there was a sign "self service" too.We opened and picked our ice cream (Emmi brand ice cream).Suddenly, a very frustrated middle to older aged service lady shouted at us that it is not self service.We got really confused because there was a sign "self service" just next to it as well.After we paid for the ice cream, the service lady followed us to control where we would sit.We had meal here few times in the past and always noticed that the chaotic service organisation.Otherwise food is ok, we had before apple donuts ring, and once cheese fondue, which was ok.As there are few good restaurants on Kleine Scheidegg, I suggest to eat there because food and service there is way better.

What a crying shame....My wife and I are staying in the Jungfrau Region (as part of a Senior Gap Year) for four months- January through to April.We are no strangers to this restaurant, having visited this stunning Region every year for the last 30 or so years.We had a great lunch meal here a couple of weeks back at a cost of 110 Chf, not a problem with the cost, we ate and drank well and the personal service offered by Sarah was excellent.We reserved a table for our next visit for 10th March 2017 and we were pleased that Sarah had reserved us a window table with flowers on the table, a nice touch, thankyou!Our budget was again between 100-150chf however, this soon changed.Having ordered our wine, (Swiss Johannisburg), we also requested, as usual, a "jug of tap water"."I'm afraid I need to make you aware that this will cost you 4chf" a very embarrassed Sarah said.Apparently this is a "discretionary charge" issued by an "absent management" and was therefore not even open to discussion....not Sarah's fault I hasten to add!The British have a saying that goes something like "red rag to a bull"......needless to say that our potentially extensive order was immediately curtailed to a deliberate minimalistic lunch...Brandegg Swiss Restaurant Management....You lost a valuable client today!!!!Completely understand that a few clients may decide to take advantage of your sun terrace and order water only, however, by instructing your staff to adopt a one policy fits all approach, you have successfully alienated a regular high value client.Fortunately the owner retires (on a low note in my opinion) in April....hopefully the new owners will have a better level of Business acumen!Very, very disappointed !
This restaurant is half way down a gorgeous blue run which cuts through the forest. Like everyone else says, you have to stop and try the apple fritters and vanilla cream (custard) Hearty rosti with cheese and bacon before you catch the train back up to Kleine Scheidegg or carry on down further.
Have been here a few times, does the most amazing apple fritters and vanilla sauce. Would thoroughly recommend a visit does really good rosti dishes too, very accessible for skiers, walkers or people coming up or down on the mountain train as is located next to the station.
