If you can afford it, there's no better place for lunch on the Corviglia. Food and service were excellent, but what you really pay for are the amazing views of St. Moritz and the mountains.

Ate in the lounge area, burger wasn't bad. Mineral water (which is actually tap water as the waiter informed us)14 Swiss Frank's which is a ridiculous. All in all not bad but I wouldn't rush back.

First I think it is important to share with the users in this site that there is a confusion concerning this place. Thus, this restaurant is reviewed under two different names resulting in a confusion regarding all information including ranking. The two different names are: "La Marmite" and "Corviglia Brasserie". To me "La Marmite" deserves to be among the top 5 restaurants in Saint Moritz. The food was excellent and the views amazing. This combination is worth more than you can imagine. My eyes were same happy as my palate. Lunch at La Marmite, when the weather is clear and you can admire the whole views is a top experience. Our oysters were of top quality and served with great attention to detail, as well as potato soup with truffles that was delicious. I was happy to see that they had a vegan option to the main courses which I chose and was very nice with all the vegetables keeping their texture and freshness although they were cooked with curry. Very nice and tasty surprise for everybody from the chef in the beginning, but I don't tell you, so that you experience it as surprise as well. And also another sweet surprise for everybody after the lunch. I will go again for sure and I will recommend to all my friends who will visit St Moritz and I am sure they will be grateful to me.

Each time we're there, it's a true treat! Tuna steak is fabulous! But I don't think you can go wrong there with any meal. The fantastically attentive service and the culinary delights make us come back to Mathis each time we're in St.Moritz.

Reto is that good and deserving of a Michelin star. This was the best mountain restaurant that I've ever eaten at in terms of quality of food. The outdoor area isn't as expansive as some of other restaurants but its the easiest to get to (literally in the main building that the funicular ends at) and by far has the most delicious food. Had the pleasure of meeting Reto twice during my stay and he is a great guy. Will definitely return each time I am in town.

But then again I live in Italy for the last 12 years. Compared to what one gets in a country side trattoria in Tuscany where truffles are never a big deal, Mathis Food Affair is a nice try (they even brand their own salt -- "why?" would be a natural question), but it somehow misses the mark. Anyway, the mountains and the view are there, so all in all the money isn't wasted.

Christmas lunch at La Marmite is a tradition for me and my brother as we celebrate the special day skiing in coat and tie. La Marmite is excellent and accessible to non-skiers by incline train. Truffles reign supreme at La Marmite! My advice is to spare no expense and just sit back and watch the magic of Chef Reto Mathis with wonderful food and wine. Make sure to book in advance.
