We went to Omnia twice for dinner during our last stay, once with 3 kids, once just my wife and I. We are familiar with many of the leading restaurants in Zermatt and elsewhere on the planet, and Omnia's chef and his team are clearly top-in-class, justifying the high ratings at ease. It specifically differentiates with a unique combination of food sophistication and elegance, service dedication and utmost focus on guest requests (one of us has difficulties with lactose, and the way by which the chef coped with this in a 6 course menu was truly unique). We wish the team continued inspiration and success, and will surely be back!
If you saw my review of this hotel, you know I liked it...the restaurant is another reason. We enjoyed breakfast each day and the highlight of our culinary experience in Zermatt was the gourmet dinner in the one star resto. It was perfect. Not too much, not too little, every dish just terrific. Service is beyond what one expects. A young, friendly and elegant Dutch lady helped my family at each breakfast and also dinner. She has our compliments. Even if you don't stay at The Omnia....go dine. You. Won't regret it.
Nach den ausgezeichneten Amuse Bouche wurde uns die Foie Gras als Vorspeise serviert, die uns allerdings nicht ganz überzeugen konnte. Der vom Chef de Service empfohlene, leicht süssliche Riesling passte hervorragend dazu. Hauptgang und Dessert konnten uns dann aber begeistern. Die Weinkarte ist sehr gut sortiert und überzeugt. Der Service war aufmerksam und sympathisch.
Zermatt is a charming town and this restaurant is a good match. Extremely good service and food tasty in surprising ways. We opted for the a la carte approach. They welcomed us with a trio of aperitifs that were fresh and tasty. The bread basket was surprisingly good, with one bread specially managing to surprise your mouth with a second burst of taste once you munched on it a bit. Of what we had I would like to highlight the tarts which was majestic, with all sorts of surprises both in taste an texture. And also the tiramisu, very innovative, and very good.
My husband and I had our last dinner in Zermatt on the day before Swiss National Day, we enjoyed the Ruinart champagne for the start. Food and wine were good, loved the desserts though we felt rather stuffed in the end! Nice ambience and service was excellent too. Oh and we loved their breads and the hazelnut butter! Awesome dinner :)
We decided to go for the a-la-card selection. We had Hamachi Sashimi as amuse bush, it was mouth watering. The foie gras was exceptional. The second starter of trio Sashimi fish (spike, perch and trout) was very good. I had the veal cheek, it was superb! My wife got the grilled Spanish beef, it was great as well.The freshly baked bread was super.The sommelier suggested Schiefer Terrasee Riesling. It paired so well with everything.I highly recommend this restaurant! It's a must visit for foodies!
We walked in and loved the decor and ambiance but the service fell short. One of our waiters did not speak great english so was unable to describe the dishes completely. The service was incredibly slow. We did the 5-course with wire pairing. It was over 3 hours with a restaurant 50% filled. Food was solid but lacked on creativity.
as we were a group of twelve people choosing the 5-courses gourmet menue, we were completely surprised by the treatment at the omnia. the creativity of the dishes is impressive, the presentation of each course a piece of art. no waiting time, no rush - perfect rhythm. the attention of the staff is what we never experienced elsewhere: even though the restaurant was fully booked we felt as we had our private caretakers. noelle who was waiting on us is a treasure; each wish is read in your eyes before you even think of it yourself; the perfect balance of professionalism, friendlyness, humour and charme - a unique evening in one of the most beautiful environments. fantastic, thank you so much!
