Excellent food at a fair price. The owners accommodated a peanut allergy with great care and consideration.

We stopped at this Guesthouse cafe for morning coffee. We were the only customers on the terrace and were able to drink in the views across the valley to the Jungfrau mountains. An added bonus was watching the para-gliders as they sailed effortlessly on...a warm, still summer morning. A cup of good coffee and a coke came in under but in all honesty I would have paid that just to sit and admire the view.

We had breakfast in this room for almost weeks... delicious wide-ranging buffet. Great for families. What makes this place exceptional is the elegant panoramic views of the Alps. While munching on your food, whenever you look up you'll gasp at the views out the...walls of glass

We hiked above Grindelwald and came across Terrassenwag on our way down. We found this delightful restaurant. The views from the deck was just awe inspiring! My wife had a veal sausage with a wonderful onion sauce that she's still talking about. This is a family...owned restaurant in their hotel and it is all Swiss. We think we'd return, skip Interlaken and stay here.

We stopped here for lunch on a rainy day. We have an apartment in Grindelwald and eat out at lunchtime. This is on Terrassenweg so it's above Grindelwald's main street and is best reached by car or the bus. You're rewarded with lovely views of...the Schreckhorn, Eiger North Face and glacier between them as the restaurant sits opposite with nice views from the terrace (see photo). There's free car parking opposite for guests. The menu is not high cuisine but simple food omelettes, schnitzel, rosti etc. Typical Swiss prices aligned to similar places across the Jungfrau region. The food was good, served hot and there's plenty of it. We had the mushroom and ham omelettes and they filled the plate! Chips are extra though. And we had the pan-fried port schnitizel which was also good and came with fries and vegetables. Together with three soft drinks the bill was about CHf which, spookily, is almost identical to all the other lunches we've been having this week! We sat inside and it was clean and well presented. Candles were lit for us but it's not the last word in contemporary design more traditional Swiss little restaurant in a Guest House Pension. Service is slow but that suited us just fine as it was, as stated earlier, a rainy day and we had nowhere special to go afterwards. This has been mentioned in another, earlier review and it's because the waitress owner) is happy to chat with her guests and doesn't rush around. So get with the programme', slow down and enjoy your holiday! If you're in a rush then either don't come here or explain to them when you arrive I am sure they'll oblige! Decent place then for an easy, light Swiss meal. Traditional Swiss hospitality from a family owned establishment which we prefer to the bigger tourist traps in the centre of Grindelwald. To the husband wife team that looked after us Monika Daniel thank you!

We stayed for a week in this family hotel and enjoyed every minute. Monica, Dani and daughter Moni try everything to make you feel at home in this Gasthof. The kitchen is Swiss, good with straight forward dishes. A tip, if you are staying in...the Gasthof use the half pension option. This gives you every night a good decent dinner with soup, salad, main course and desert. In good Swiss tradition this Gasthof also has a closing night on Monday. Pending the season the kitchen is also closed on Tuesday. However there are enough good options for restaurants in the neighbourhood to overcome this. The rooms are good and all have a balcony. A few rooms don't have the spectacular view on the Eiger North wall so be sure to check this when booking. The restaurant and the terrace the spectacular view is guaranteed. We are surely coming back to this nice friendly place!
